Synopsis:For most people, youth is an exciting period in their lives as this is a time they experiment with various activities, enjoy the independence and energy of being a young adult. It is also a crucial time where they start to form their own identities and they may be subjected to peer influence during this phase. Having a risk taking attitude may also cause them to develop addictive behaviours. In this workshop, our speakers will focus on two common addictions among youths – alcohol and cyber/gaming addiction. Participants will learn more about the development of addiction, specifically, alcohol and cyber/gaming addictions; youth drinking pattern and the additive nature of online games, and strategies to help young persons with such addiction issues.
Suitable For:
Individuals working with youths such as social service workers and teachers.
