Synopsis:Women experience addiction differently from men. They may be more susceptible to general and psychological health consequences from substance abuse than men due to their different social roles and unique life issues and events. As such, they require  gender-specific addiction treatment to meet their needs. This 1-day workshop will present these differences to help participants understand the landscape of women with addictions, and how they can work with them to achieve a better treatment outcome.
Suitable For:Staff currently working with female clients with mental health and substance abuse condition and students entering the field can tailor their training, education, and experiences toward these competencies in their efforts to effectively serve and work with our women.
