Synopsis: | Problem gambling occurs when one continues to invest time and money on the habit despite experiencing harmful negative consequences. This workshop will discuss the definition and theoretical foundations of problem gambling, including the signs, symptoms and consequences. Participants will be given an overview of the psychological interventions and social support available for help-seeking gamblers and their families. There will also be reference to specific interventions that helps to motivate gamblers to seek help and keep them engaged in treatment.
