Synopsis:Alcohol is a widely used and abused drug among youths which can cause serious and potentially life-threatening problems. The impact for youths is greater in comparison to adults as their brains are still developing. For some, drinking may be a singular problem. For others, it may be an expression of general adolescent turmoil which includes other problem behaviours that are linked to impulsiveness, stress and sensation seeking. This workshop will examine the drinking pattern among youths, and its implications. It will also discuss the challenges faced when working with youths, and strategies to prevent excessive drinking among this population.
