  • How do I make an appointment for a family member?
    First of all, check if your family member is willing to seek treatment. Then, call us at our appointment line at the All Addictions Helpline at 6-RECOVER (6-7326837) or the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1800-6-668-668. You need to provide us with the person’s name and NRIC number.
  • How do I change my appointment date?
    Please call our appointment line at 6-RECOVER (6-7326837) if you need to change the date of your appointment.
  • What is the average waiting time to get an appointment?
    About three weeks.
  • Can I just walk in without making an appointment?
    Yes, but only if you are seeking help for gambling addiction. As there are only limited slots available in a single day for walk-in clients, it is advisable that you call us at 1800-6-668-668 to confirm your appointment.
  • I am a foreigner. Can I seek treatment at NAMS?
    Our services are available to both residents and non-residents. Please click here for our charges.

  • What are the different types of Casino Exclusions available?

  • How do I apply for a casino self-exclusion order?
    If you are a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident here, you can apply for self-exclusion using your SingPass. Click here to apply for it.

  • How do I revoke the casino self-exclusion order?
    The minimum period for self-exclusion order is one year. After that, you can apply to terminate the order in person at the National Council on Problem Gambling.

  • How do I apply for a casino exclusion order for a family member?
    Please contact the National Council on Problem Gambling for more information.


  • Will you inform my employer that I am seeking treatment at NAMS?
    We do not communicate any information about our patients to a third party, even to family members, without first getting the patients’ consent. You can be assured that your treatment at NAMS is kept strictly confidential.
  • Will the relevant authorities be informed about my drug abuse?
    If you are seeing us for the first time about your problem with drug abuse, we are required by law under the Misuse of Drugs Act to inform the Central Narcotics Bureau and provide them with your personal particulars and information about the type of drug use, within 7 days of your visit.

    Both the National Problem Gambling Helpline (1800-6-668-668) and the All Addictions Helpline 6-RECOVER
    (6-7326837) are  operational from 8am to 11pm daily, including Sunday and Public Holidays.

  • Can I use Medisave to pay for my treatment?
    Yes, you can. Please inform the hospital staff on admission that you wish to use your Medisave. Then, you need to fill up a Medisave Authorisation Form which the hospital will submit to the CPF Board to make the withdrawal from your Medisave account.
  • What number can I call to make further enquires about my payment?

  • Does NAMS conduct talks on gambling and other addictions in schools and workplaces?
    Yes, we do. Simply email your request to


  • I am a counsellor with a Family Service Centre. How do I refer someone to NAMS for treatment?
    You may fax us a letter of referral for your client to NAMS at 6315 4837 or call our All Addictions Helpline at 6-RECOVER (6-7326837) to make an appointment for your client to see us for an assessment.
  • Do you provide inpatient treatment for addictions?
    Yes, we do. Our Serenity Centre provides inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation treatment.
  • How can I convince my partner/family member who has a serious gambling problem to seek help at NAMS?
    You can contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1800-6-668-668 to speak to one of our counsellors on how you can encourage your partner to come in for an assessment.
    Alternatively, you may wish to attend the Families in Recovery through Education and Empowerment on Problem Gambling (FREE-PG) group that we run on every first Monday of the month (English session) and third Monday of the month (Mandarin session), where you will be taught on what gambling addiction is about and how you can cope with issues arising you’re your loved one’s gambling addiction.
