 About NAMS

The National Addictions Management Service was set up in the Institute of Mental Health in 2008 with the support
of the Ministry of Health to provide treatment for people with addictions.

NAMS treats patients who are addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling, the internet and others. It runs a dedicated outpatient clinic for three different groups of patients – adolescents, private and subsidised patients.

NAMS also has an inpatient ward called Serenity Centre which is a residential facility for patients who require detoxification and rehabilitation. In addition, NAMS runs two satellite clinics at the Institute of Mental Health's Community Wellness Clinics (CWCs) in Queenstown and Geylang.

Our services include:

  • Assessment and treatment of addictions by a multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, counsellors, psychologists, nurses and medical social workers

  • Individual, group and family therapy

  • Addiction awareness talks for the community

  • Training for healthcare and social service professionals

  • Research on addictions
